Collarenebri

Last modified: December 14, 2006 - 2:55 PM

What to do in Collarenebri

Fishing

Collarenebri is regarded as one of the best inland fishing locations in Australia. The Barwon river at Collarenebri is reknowned for it's plentiful water supply and fantastic fishing sites. It provides sanctuary and recreation during long hot summers, with kilometres of secluded camping sites.

Aboriginal Cemetery

A well maintained sacred Aboriginal Cemetery just out of town, is unique. Arrange a tour with a knowledgeable local guide.

Collymongle Station

Visit the Collymongle Station and see the Carved trees, which are a must see item of great significance to the indigenous people of the area.

Collarenebri Township

Many of the buildings in Collarenebri today date back to 1910. As is many other towns of its era, the early streetscapes of Collarenebri were shaped by fire, which frequently destroyed buildings and so heralded rebuilding and change. Wander around the town and imagine what the early days may have been like.
