Cumborah

Last modified: November 22, 2007 - 4:00 PM

The town of Cumborah

Not unlike many rural villages, Cumborah was once a thriving epi-centre for many local graziers and their families. While there are a handful of people who still choose to live there, and enjoy the quiet lifestyle, there are very limited services that remain. Cumborah is now considered the gateway to the Grawin, Glengarry and Sheepyard Opal Fields, which in recent times have been the site of some great opal finds. Rock hounds come from miles to search for agate, petrified wood, topaz and other stones in the gravel pits situated just near the village of Cumborah.
